About Young Language Learners

How It All Started:

Young Language Learners grew out of my love of homeschooling and love of languages. Before having children I lived and worked for 10 years using both languages. Then I decided to go back to college and get my teaching qualification and I continue to offer tuition to Leaving Cert students here in Ireland.
My own two children, now just 12 and 14, enjoy languages too. During lockdown restrictions in early 2020 they were missing meeting up with their homeschool friends. I decided to create classes where they could learn but also interact with other students too.
Being a homeschooling parent allows me to be a different kind of teacher; I do not try and replicate a school classroom situation, but rather I try to really work with each child individually, gauging their strengths and also their needs.
My intention is to show children that learning another language never needs to be scary - it should be fun and should open up their world.
I hope you’ll enjoy my classes.
